Not another Case of the Mondays…

Posted on Posted in General

Ever wake up on a Monday morning and go ughhhh….do i have to go to work?

One question I ask: What if I went to sleep on Sunday or woke up on Monday and my attitude was different, what if I said: I’m so excited to start another week at work? I’m not there yet…

I have this dialogue back and forth in my mind all the time.

I went to physical therapy school to learn how to restore people’s physical bodies back to health…when did it become more complicated than that? when did the excitement of treating patients and making a difference fade?

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE what I do and love making a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis. But, it’s not easy, the challenges are real. When you stare life’s challenges in the face on a daily basis, things aren’t so pretty.

The nature of my job does not allow me to divulge details, but I think everyone sees what I’m getting at.

Whether you are working a job that you don’t like or you have a job of your dreams overshadowed by mountains of paperwork or hurdles to jump through, or you’re burnt out from 50-60-70-80 hour work weeks, etc. Life throws us curve balls, and it is very easy to lose focus and forget the blessings of the jobs we are in.

Here is what I try to focus on:

1. God has us where we are working with the people we work with so that we can bless them, encourage them, and love them. Whether its a co worker, patient, or client, we all have a chance to make a difference in someone’s life. Yes, even if you are working a desk job or punching numbers all day, it goes for everyone

2. Knowing this; “You are where you are for a purpose, on purpose, with a purpose.” (A very wise person once said.)

I don’t have it down…I have to take each day, one step at a time, because I can so easily be overwhelmed by what many things come my way. Taking the time to lay each day at the feet of Jesus, keeping him at the forefront of my mind, helps me to keep each moment, each situation in perspective. I am where I am for a purpose, God is with me, and He has all things under control.

Just a fellow sojourner, seeking to become more like Jesus. Not perfect, but the Almighty, All-Powerful, Creator and Savior of the Universe is with me 🙂 Can’t beat that!

Slowly but surely as I take one step, one moment, one day at a time…as I choose to have joy (even when its hard), joy enters in little by little, moment by moment.
