Do Not Give Up

Posted on Posted in General
How many times do we have to hear it?

Whats the number of times that we have to hear something to make it significant? More than a coincidence?

At least once per day, last weekend into Monday: God has either used someone or brought to my mind the same thing. “Do not be discouraged, do not give up.”

Saturday my pastor shared, Hebrews 12:3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Sunday Galatians 6:2-5, 9-10 came to mind while praying :
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.  If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.  Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Monday as I prayed with a group of people over Skype, God brought the same thing to mind. It was later confirmed again by another pastor at the church that emailed me this:
2 Chr 15:7 “But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward in your work.”

There’s got to be some kind of significance in this right?
We always say third times a charm or three strikes your out…but not just three times, four in 72 hours.

I needed to hear this on Monday, as I had a near migraine as I was heading to bible study with the youth in NW DC. My flesh cried out to turn around, while my spirit said NO, God has called me to go, headache or not. I went, and my headache decreased to barely noticeable.

I know, My near migraine pales in comparison to the brokenness and struggles of those around me. There may be some of you out there tonight that needed to hear this. Do not give up! God is working on your behalf, just keep going. Keep your eyes on Him!

As we journey through life, many times things get pretty dark and bleak before we see the light of day, keep pressing, keep going! God desires to restore our broken and fragile lives, bringing healing, joy and peace again.

God open my eyes to the brokenness around me, so that your healing presence and your light may brighten the dark places and heal the brokenness.
