My brother asked me today, “have you blogged recently? It’s on my favorites and I check it every morning.”
I know its been a while since I have written.
Not sure, why…despite there being no lack of things to write about, I’ve just had a hard time expressing things. Writing is how I communicate my thoughts, emotions, etc. I can be known for my lack of spoken words, but written, there’s usually a plethora.
Is this what writer’s block feels like?
In less than a month, I will embark on the first step of my long term journey to Congo (DRC). I cant wait. I have dreamed about this day for 4 or 5 years. (I’ve lost track). One more hurdle is my visa, but after more than 20 phone calls, I am hoping to hear that y visa is on its way to me this week 🙂
It’s like I have all of this excitement balled up inside, and once I open the Fed Ex envelope and my eyes behold my visa, I think I might burst. But, until then I will patiently and quietly wait.
Most of us are not a fan of waiting (I’m not), but so many things are learned in the wait. One question I have asked myself lately is: “do I really trust that God will provide because this is exactly what he has called me to do?”
Then it dawned on me….
“Those who wait or hope on the Lord will renew their strength, they will sore on wings of eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” From Isaiah 40
If I wait and put my hope in God, then I will be strengthened.
Tonight, that’s my choice, to put my hope in God and begin to sore like an eagle, run without growing weary, and walking without being faint.
The worries of this world and the struggles we face, can wear us down, but with God as our burden bearer and strength restorer, we can walk this life with our head held high and new a new pep in our step. His mercies are new every morning!
Don’t let this world take you for a ride, sore and fly above your circumstances 🙂
