“I am a Mother to the nations, sent to bring healing and faithfully raise up passionate pursuers of the Truth.”
I currently resides in Washington, DC where I works as a physical therapist at a well known acute rehabilitation hospital in the city.
In addition to my day job, I am the Missions Pastor at The Lighthouse Fellowship in Alexandria, VA equipping others and spreading my passion for restoring lives through the transforming power of Jesus.
For 4 years I had the privilege of working with inner city youth in NE/NW DC weekly in a ministry called HopeStreet.DC. The goal of this ministry was to provide a place where youth and young adults can discover who God is, what their purpose is, and how to have a relationship with God. I grew a lot over these years, and it has been amazing to see the transformation of all of the youth and adults involved. Excited to see what the future holds 🙂
Over the years I have become quite the nomad. The past 6 years in DC is the longest I have stayed in one place since I graduated college in 2001. Currently, I am preparing to make another transition.
I took a leap of faith this summer as I said yes to Congo. For years, I had become home sick for D.R. Congo and longed to serve there. In March I spent 2 weeks, serving and working with Jenn Eason and Africa New Day, as they daily seek to transform the lives of men, women and children. Whether its through Christian education, leadership training, discipleship, mentoring, etc, they are combatting the cycle of violence, with hope, restoration and healing. As the days and weeks went by, I felt more and more like I was “home.” I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
So since then, I have been on a journey to get to Congo. The first step is working with Foursquare Missions International to become a board approved missionary. As this process continues, I am now taking time to prepare, to share my passion and heart for Congo, and raise money to get there. Unlike many jobs, this one comes without a salary, it is completely volunteer based. I will be depending on the generous giving of all of you to get to Congo!
As details unfold, I will continue to update you all!!
